Carnival Packing List

Clothes

• Monday wear

  If your Carnival has a Monday road day, pack your Monday wear ahead of time.

• Carnival stockings

  Bring a pair that works with your costume and fits comfortably.

• Seamless nude underwear

  Pack a few options depending on how your costume fits once you pick it up.

• Nipple covers / pasties

  Especially if your costume is sheer or has very little coverage.

Footwear

• Carnival boots or comfortable road shoes

  Break them in before Carnival. Road day should NOT be the first time you wear them.

• Comfort insoles

  Dr. Scholl’s, gel insoles or whatever feels best for you. Put them in before you hit the road, not after your feet already hurt.

• Blister patches or moleskin

  Keep a few with you in case your shoes start rubbing.

• Comfortable slides

  Perfect for before or after the road when those boots finally come off.

Pro tipConsider going about half a size up — your feet can swell after lots of walking, dancing and standing in the heat.

Electronics

• Portable charger / power bank

  Your phone is going to be working overtime with pictures, videos, maps and keeping up with your group.

• Charging cable

  Bring the cord that actually works with your phone.

• Charging block

  Good to have back at the hotel, especially if you’re sharing a room and everybody is fighting over outlets.

• Waterproof phone pouch

  Keeps your phone protected from rain, drinks, sweat and general road-day chaos.

Hygiene

• Female urinal (like the P-Easy)

  You can find them online, including Amazon. Trust us — it comes in handy when porta-potties are dirty and you really do NOT want to sit down.

• Travel toilet paper or tissues

  Never assume the porta-potty is going to have any left.

• Hand sanitizer

  Keep a small one with you.

• Baby wipes or feminine wipes

  Perfect for freshening up throughout the day.

• Mini deodorant

  You are going to be outside for hours. Pack it.

• Anti-chafe stick or powder

  Especially if your thighs rub when you walk or dance.

Accessories

• Waterproof fanny pack, leg pouch or arm pouch

  Keeps your money, ID, keys, cards and other small valuables secure on the road — without carrying a regular bag.

• Sunglasses

  Preferably a pair you won’t be devastated about losing.

• Hat or visor

  Extra protection from the sun, especially while waiting around before or after the road.

• Mini portable fan

  You will be VERY happy you packed this once the sun starts beating down.

• Insulated tumbler or reusable water bottle

  Something that keeps your drink cold is always a good idea.

• Fashion tape

  Pack it as a precaution for quick costume fixes.

• Safety pins

  Tiny item, major lifesaver.

• Hair ties

  Because eventually you may get hot enough to want that hair OFF your neck.

• Mini sewing kit

  In case a strap comes loose or something needs a quick repair.

• Ziploc bags

  Useful for cash, makeup, wet items or anything else you want to keep dry and separated.

• ID, card and a little cash

  Only carry what you actually need and keep it secure.

Toiletries + Body Care

• Sunscreen

  Face and body. Put it on before you leave and bring a small one so you can reapply.

• SPF lip balm

  Easy to forget, but your lips need protection too.

• Electrolyte packets

  Throw a few in your suitcase. Long hours in the heat can take a lot out of you.

• Voltaren or Icy Hot

  Great for your feet, calves or lower back after hours on the road.

• Pain reliever

  Bring whatever you normally use and can safely take.

• Mini first-aid kit

  Bandages, blister care and any little basics you usually need.

• Aloe vera gel

  Good to have in case you underestimate the sun.

• Setting spray

  Because your makeup needs to survive heat, sweat and HOURS on the road.
